Meredith Blake Martin - mmartin@agtlawyers.com

She’s really cheerful.  She’s also smart, thorough and dedicated.  But she’s really cheerful.  Some of us are resisting calling her Mary Tyler Moore, but we’re reserving all name calling until due time.  No lawyer that’s come as far as she has in such a short time is entirely without fangs, so we’re willing to hold off for a while.  Maybe her cheery disposition comes from the confidence of being so well qualified.

Meredith joined the Firm to practice business law.  After graduating in three years cum laude from Loyola College, where she was honored as a Presidential Scholar and awarded a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, Meredith earned her law degree with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law in May 2004.  At Maryland, Meredith was Associate Articles Editor for The Business Lawyer, a nationally-distributed law journal.  She is currently enrolled in the M.B.A. program at Loyola College.

Meredith’s current practice focuses on helping clients navigate a variety of business transactions.  Her litigation background gives her a keen eye for problems and allows her to steer her business deal clients around potential litigation snafus.  Meredith has taken charge of all aspects of litigation and has successfully argued before the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland.  All this litigation experience gives Meredith a sophistication and depth of experience few business lawyers achieve.

Meredith is one of the first to arrive at the office each day, and among the last to leave, but she manages to make time for many community and professional activities – all with that trademark smile.  She is a fellow of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association, and has served as Vice Chair of two American Bar Association committees.  Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Advertising Association of Baltimore (AAB) and on Section Council for the Young Lawyers Section of the Maryland State Bar Association. Meredith has served as class chair for annual giving at The Bryn Mawr School, and has served as general counsel for the State Board of Directors for Maryland March of Dimes.  Maybe all her do-good projects keep her smiling.  Or maybe she just has something up her sleeve.  We’ll keep you posted.
