Julie R. Rubin
Julie R. Rubin - jrubin@agtlawyers.com

The girl runs marathons, throws extravagant dinner parties and rescues drowning dogs. And that's just last weekend. So if you need help drilling through a tricky employment law or complex commercial litigation issue, Julie Rubin is your counselor of choice. Maybe all that distance training is what allows Julie to endure and keep pace with complex commercial litigation and EEO law. Twenty-four hours, one appellate brief and 12 depositions? No problem!

An ace in the courtroom and the kitchen, Julie can whip up a killer legal defense even as she throws an exquisite dinner party for 12. If you've ever had the pleasure of a Julie Rubin Dinner Party Event, you understand why it is that she does all that dang running. Dogs in need, the kitchen and road running. Julie swears these things relax her. Well, we're not quite sure how 26.2 miles of asphalt amounts to relaxation, but we do understand why she might need to take it easy once in a while.

Julie's dedication to the law and her clients is matched only by her service to the community. Need a favor or to raise a wad of money? Ask Julie. Every Fall, Julie mercilessly hounds her colleagues to dig deeply into their pockets to support the CollegeBound Foundation, where she serves as a member of the Board of Directors and twice co-chaired its annual Lawyers Campaign. Julie serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Bryn Mawr School for Girls and served as the President of its Alumnae Association. Julie also serves on the Maryland Commission on Judicial Disabilities and on the State's Peer Review Committee of the Attorney Grievance Commission. And, as though running a marathon were not enough of a personal challenge, Julie ran the Baltimore Marathon to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

All that long distance running allows Julie plenty of time to compose and practice delivery of the seminars and classes she offers to clients, law school and graduate students, and anyone who stands still too long. Julie is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland School of Law, where she teaches Trade Secret Law, and the University of Baltimore Yale Gordon College of Liberal Arts, where she teaches Copyright and Publishing Law. She speaks regularly at the invitation of business trade associations and professional education organizations on employment law and related business issues. Julie is a monthly columnist for SmartCEO magazine on these same issues. Her monthly column ranks as one of the magazine's most read columns. Julie is also a frequent guest legal commentator on Baltimore's Fox 45. Can't find the right approach to your troublesome employment and business management legal issues? Call Julie. She has a ready supply of lectures that thrill and chill business owners and human resource managers.

Julie credits Bryn Mawr School and Mount Holyoke College (from which she graduated cum laude) for her exceptional writing skills. Julie also graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Law, where she served as an Articles Editor on The Business Lawyer. While in law school, Julie was awarded the Joseph Bernstein Prize for the most significant piece of student writing and served as an Asper Fellow to Judge Marvin J. Garbis of the United States District Court of Maryland.

Julie was named by SmartCEO Magazine as one of Maryland's Legal Elite for excellence in law and as a Rising Star by Maryland Super Lawyers. Plus, her dogs really dig her.

Julie is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, the Eastern District of Michigan and the Northern District of Texas (don't ask).

With running shoes stashed under her desk, Julie is ready to go on a moment's notice and she's in it for the long haul. The girl runs marathons for crying out loud.
