In October 2007, I was elected to membership in the American Law Institute. Since then, I have been actively involved in several ALI projects, including participating in Members Consultative Group meetings and speaking at the ALI Annual Meeting.
As the ALI’s website not-so-modestly states: “The American Law Institute is the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law.” The ALI’s membership is limited to 3,000 members and consists of leading judges, law professors and members of the bar. The ALI’s marquee products are the Restatements of the Law, upon which courts and lawyers have relied since the 1920s. The ALI Adviser has just republished an article about the Restatements that I originally wrote for the Baltimore Bar Library Newsletter. http://www.thealiadviser.org/inside-the-ali-posts/the-restatements-first-second-third/
If you have questions about the Restatements, Astrachan Gunst Thomas, P.C., can help. Contact Mark Stichel at (410-783-3547).
